The session on Friday 12th January gave us the chance to 'ROAR' like Lions!

Hidden Language of Hatha Yoga
Friday 8th December
We explored the Yoga of Healing through the theme: Relaxation/Tension
It was a bitterly cold day and we retreated to the warmth of my front room to discover what causes tension in our lives, how to 'let go', what resists in us and what surrender means to us. We practiced tensing and releasing muscle groups and finally enjoyed a long, revitalising relaxation and visualisation.
Next session will be Friday January 12th 11-12.30 at the Gingerbread House.

Hidden Language of Hatha Yoga
Friday 10th November
In our session today we reflected on the Tortoise pose or Kurmasana.
We learned that our vulnerability enables us to be more open to others. That when we or someone else in the family needs help it enables us all to experience connection and closeness.
Kurmasana is also strong and protective offering us a sacred place to replenish and think clearly.
We ended with a long Relaxation session from Swami Radha's CD which revitalised mind, body and soul.
Next session is Friday 8th December 11am -12.30pm
Other dates for your diary: Swami Sukhananda will be joining us from Canada to give the following workshops at Canterbury Yoga Studio in Harbledown:
Saturday 3rd March 2018 10-1 : Hidden Language of Hatha Yoga
Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th April: 10-5 Life Seals Workshop
A yogic method of reviewing your life and making positive choices for your future.
Book any of above: jacquelinesummer4@gmail.com

New Year Walk: New Beginnings
This year I hope to spend more time out of doors, and, in particular, connecting with the wisdom of the trees. Our Celtic ancestors created their annual calendar around trees. It celebrates the cyclic nature of life. From the shortest day to 20th January is associated with the Silver Birch : Beginnings.
After an area of woodland is cleared, or after a fire, perhaps, the Silver Birch are the first trees to spring to life. On my walk today I experienced the feminine energies of these birches. Silver is associated with the moon and mysticism. (Trees of the Goddess by Elen Sentier)
A New Year ritual: write down on a piece of paper all that you are grateful for from 2015. Then write down your wishes/hopes for 2016. Tie the paper(s) around a silver birch log and watch it burn in the hearth or bonfire in the company of friends and family with whom you share your gratitude and hopes.
Where will your path take you this year? What nourishes you, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? (Hatha Yoga the Hidden language by Swami Sivananda Radha)

Are you walking alone or do you have companions on the path?
How much growth will you experience this year?
Don't forget to honour the wise, old part of yourself!
And look at the bigger picture!
May you have ease of being in 2016.
